Flame Retardants

Zinc Borate (ZNB 35)

Zinc borate is used as a smoke suppressant and a flame retardant in a wide range of applications such as plastics, rubber, textiles, paints, adhesives, pigments and ceramics. In plastics and rubber applications, it synergizes with main flame retardants, such as ATH, and increases their activity. Zinc borate does not form toxic/corrosive gases during combustion, it is an environmentally friendly compound. Due to this feature, its use, is increasing day by day, as opposed to antimony oxide (that has been prohibited in some countries).
